At Rafiq Healthcare Consultancy, our journey began with a simple belief: hospitals should be able to adopt advanced technologies like robotic surgery without unnecessary delays, inefficiencies, or uncertainty.
Founded by Raphael Riegler, a former Intuitive Surgical leader who built dozens of successful da Vinci programs across Europe, we bring first-hand expertise in program design, team enablement, and digital integration.
What started as a vision to support hospitals in Europe has grown into a dedicated consultancy for the Middle East — helping healthcare systems unlock operational efficiency, clinical excellence, and measurable ROI through robotic surgery and digital transformation.

Our Founder
Raphael Riegler – Founder & Principal Consultant
With over a decade of experience in surgical innovation, Raphael brings deep expertise in robotic program development, digital health integration, and operational excellence.
He spent 7 years at Intuitive Surgical, where he supported hospitals across Europe in building and scaling da Vinci robotic surgery programs. During his time there, he became one of the company’s youngest managers in Europe and was recognized as Best Performer in his first year.
Beyond industry expertise, Raphael is a certified internal auditor and quality manager, giving him a unique perspective on both the clinical and operational sides of hospital transformation.
Driven by a passion for improving patient care and empowering healthcare teams, Raphael founded Rafiq Robotics & Digital Health to help hospitals in the Middle East accelerate the safe, efficient, and impactful adoption of robotic surgery.
